XB8E Wins At Swiss Off-Road Championships, Round 2

Report by Philip Jeisy
The first round of the E8OR Swiss Championship 2024 took place at the astro track of the “RC Racing Club Arlesheim”.
There were two separate races on Saturday and Sunday.

I had a pretty good starting setup from the last training weekend so I could push the car from the very first round of the day. After some solid qualification rounds (and some setup advices), I placed my car on the second spot of the grid just behind Patrick Hofer and in front of Marco Rytz.
In the first and second A-main I always struggled with the double jump at the beginning of the straight, so I had the work much harder than I wanted to gain some spots. With a good 10 minutes run in the last A3-main I finished 2nd overall at the first race on Saturday just behind Patrick Hofer who was unbeatable. Very impressive drive!

The race on Sunday didn’t start as I expected: the last group of the first quali group was affected by some rain drops, so it wasn’t possible to reach a good position. After a pretty bad first qualy I could place my XB8E 2024 on the third spot of the grid.
The first A-main couldn’t work better for me: after some bad luck with a DNF of Patrick Hofer I could win the first main just in front of Noah Kaufmann, who had a really good pace on this high grip astro track. In the second main the positions swapped so I finished in second place, just behind Noah. The final and third round went perfect for me so I could bring home A3 and the overall victory on Sunday in front of Noah in second and Patrick on the third spot.

In conclusion, the weekend was just ideal for me. The XB8E 2024 worked perfect, the atmosphere on and off the track was great and the club did an excellent job.
A big thanks goes the guys to right and to my left (of the pit table). Thanks for all the support during the weekend and throughout the whole season! Results like that wouldn’t be possible without you.

Results:

1. Philip Jeisy – XRAY XB8E
2. Noah Kaufmann
3. Patrick Hofer

RX8 Wins At Swiss On-Road Championships, Round 1

Report by Mattia Pesenti
First Swiss Championship race – Lostallo
Once again this year the first Swiss championship race took place on the Lostallo track. The weather forecast was not the best and predicted rain for the whole weekend.
On Friday, the rain allowed us to test very little, and on Saturday we managed to run only one dry qualifying session for the 1/8 and two for the 1/10.
On Sunday for the finals, the weather was no better. It rained until the start of the 1/10 final, but it never dried out. In 1/10 Schär took the lead immediately on the first lap ahead of Fankhauser. Unfortunately, a flameout at the first refuelling caused him to lose the lead he had gained at the start of the race. However, he returned to the track still leading the race, but unfortunately after 10min of domination he lost control and ended up in the grass. He rejoined the track in third place, then managed to regain second place, only to lose it towards the end of the race. With the track becoming less and less wet, Traugott’s tyres took the blow.
The 1/8 final also took place in wet track conditions, there was some doubt about which car to use (wet or dry car. The Swiss regulations allow for 2 cars to be ready). Many opted for the dry car with wet tyres, but Pesenti decided to run with the wet car with wet tyres. In fact, the track never dried out and Pesenti took the lead after the first few corners and finished the final without making any mistakes.
Great performance by XRAY during this race, who placed no less than four models in the final. Congratulations also to Heiniger Beat (our Bax Verstappen), Cannas Roberto and Michele Cona.
The next race will be at the Langenthal track on 11/12 May 2024.
